Apocalyptic 02:08
When I grow up it’s gonna suck I’m gonna fail my classes, I’ll be out of luck The air will be polluted The water all diluted There won’t be any food We’ll be in a fearful mood It’s gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah It’s gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah But don’t worry my friend There’s a way to defend It’s as easy as this You’ll be living in bliss It's gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah It’s gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah You’ll just have to earn more money There’s no time to be funny We just have to get more money so we can move to Mars We’re escaping world destruction so we’ll have to travel far yeah we’ll have to travel far Yeah It’s gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah It’s gonna be apocalyptic, yeah I’m just thinking realistic, yeah, yeah Yeah

Klondike 02:14
The secrets of this lore ain't secret anymore That these white winter mountains are the blue skies open door The wind's dense and heavy and the frost blows light with leaves And these trees sure remind me of the golden pick axe dream Yukon Yukon Yukon Yukon Rainbow of Klondike Golden seed spread wild Dreams for million miles Driven by the fight In the winter light Secret of the *shhhh* Klondike Huh Klondike Huh Klondike Cowboys and miners are driven by the fight And the white Yukon mountains are shining in the winter light Grey leaves are rustling above an icy stream, And the mountains remind me of the golden pick axe dream Yukon Yukon Yukon Yukon Rainbow of Klondike Golden seed spread wild Dreams for million miles Driven by the fight In the winter light Secret of the *shhhh* Klondike Hey Emma Yeah What's that secret What secret Of the Yukon Oh I know Klondike Rainbow of Klondike Golden seed spread wild Dreams for million miles Driven by the fight In the winter light Secret of the *shhhh* Klondike

Unalived 02:37
And I was driving in my car last night And I left home cause I didn’t wanna fight I felt my head was spinning around The other car hit me I skidded the ground I was only 24 and already thinking about getting divorced And I was only 25 when I got unalived He started to run over, there’s no time to wait The ambulance came, but it was too late And that’s when I flew up to heaven And god I feel bad for my dad named Devin I was only 24 and already thinking about getting divorced And I was only 25 when I got unalived That’s when I flew down to earth The next thing you know I’m being birthed Skip to when I turned 11 God I miss my dad named Devin I was only 24 and already thinking about getting divorced And I was only 25 when I got unalived

about

We visited schools in Nova Scotia and Quebec and helped kids (aged 8-12) create song lyrics by giving them prompts to inspire them. Some kids were given photographs to get their creative juices flowing, and some were asked to write about their future or their family. We then got a gaggle of songwriter friends and professional musicians to turn these lyrics into full-blown songs, including Moira & Claire, Mary Beth Carty, Carolyn Curry, Sophie Lawrence, Emma Vickers, and of course the regular lineup of Bingly and the Rogues members Justin Gregg, Ranke de Vries, Laura Teasdale, Jake Hanlon, Jenn Priddle, and Paul Tynan. We were even lucky enough to have two super-talented kids write, sing, and record their own songs: Eva Laudadio and Wavey Middleton. What makes this album special is that these lyrics were 100% generated by kids, with little to no editing by adults. These are their actual words and thoughts. None of us adults would ever have thought kids would want to hear songs about these subjects (mining for gold?!). Especially since some of the topics were much darker than you’d expect to come out of the mind of a 9-year-old. But that’s what makes this album so extraordinary; the realization that kids do have deep, complex thoughts that we—as adults—should take seriously. #WrittenByKids is an album full of kids music with lyrics written by kids featuring their ideas,
their hopes, their fears, and their dreams.
